While Your Mind is Fresh

When you get up at morning, after a good sleep, your mind is more fresh than it is at any other time of the day.

That’s why it makes sense to use this fresh mind to do something that makes the best use of it.

Here are a few things I can think of, that do so :

This is the first thing I suggest you to do. When your mind is fresh, it’s easy to focus your full attention on your meditation. As the day passes, your mind gets filled with new information, and then it becomes hard to discard all that information and get back to meditation.

When you sit down to meditate with a fresh mind, you find it easy to concentrate on one object (which may be your breath, your heartbeat, or a thought). The easier your meditation becomes, the more you do it, and the more you learn about yourself.

If you start your day with meditation, even five minutes of practice can help you remain peaceful and mindful for the rest of your day.

When your mind is fresh, it’s eager to learn new things. And what better way to feed your mind than to fill it with something that you want to fill it with.

You can use this time to read books that you find meaningful. You can read books on meditation, spirituality, or personal growth. When you read with a fresh mind, you understand what’s written in the book more clearly and deeply.

If you are a student, you can use this time to learn new things. With a fresh mind you are likely to learn in less time, with less efforts.

This is also a good time to think of new ideas or to reflect upon the deeper issues in your life. You can use this time to focus your mind to make important decisions in your life. A fresh mind is the best friend you’ve got with you to help you make the right choices in life.

When your mind is fresh, you can make better decisions and see all aspects of an action, which you may miss if you take your decisions at a time when your mind is filled with other thoughts to think of.

Another good way to make use of your fresh mind, is to create something. If you are a writer, you can write something. If you are a painter, you can paint something. This is the best time of the day to create something, as a fresh mind is open to all possibilities, and you are likely to come up with creative thoughts and ideas.

You also get more done in less time. And you can work deeply on your problems. As your mind is fresh, you can easily identify mistakes when you see them, and this helps you produce high quality work. That’s why it’s a great time for every artist or creative to work on something new.

Use your time wisely…

While these are some of the ways to make the best use of your fresh mind, it’s also necessary to avoid things that add no value to your life, and simply waste your time – things like social media, email, news, tv, music, or any kind of entertainment that you only use to please your senses. And yes, if you read books only for enjoyment that counts as a waste of time, too.

You can do all such things at later time of your day, when you need to take a break, or when you have some free time to spare. But when your mind is fresh, don’t waste it on such useless things. They are not worth it.

The best use of your mind is to do things that help you understand, learn, and improve your life in some way. Those are the things you should do when your mind is still fresh.

Thank you for your time.
